General Information about Kythnos Island, Cyclades
Kythnos is a typical Cycladic island, famous for the healing springs and the calm beaches. The port of Kythnos is Merihas, a picturesque place with frequent tourism traffic. White houses surround this bay and offer gorgeous view to the sea. The island is located in close distance to Athens and has been a popular destination for the weekends.
The most impressive beach of Kythnos is Kolona, a long stretch of sand that actually creates two beaches. Equally beautiful beaches are Loutra, Gaidouromantra and Kanala. Greek ferries from/to Kythnos
There are daily ferries from Piraeus to Kythnos and the trip takes 2-3 hours. This route connects Kythnos to the other islands of Western Cyclades, including Sifnos, Serifos, Milos, Kimolos and Folegandros. In summer, there are also ferries from Lavrio to Kea and Kythnos.
