Lassithi Ferries: Online booking for Lassithi Ferry Tickets

Lassithi is one of the four prefectures of Crete. Its capital is Agios Nikolaos town and the whole area is known for its beautiful beaches and pristine nature. This is probably the quietest place of Crete, in comparison to Chania and Heraklion which get very busy in summer with tourists.

Agios Nikolaos is known for its picturesque port and its lake, which is surrounded by palm trees and connected directed to the sea through a channel. However, the most popular resorts of Lassithi are the beaches, such as Elounda, Sissi, Ierapetra and Ammoudara, where most tourist facilities are found.

There are many sights to visit in Lassithi. Apart from picturesque and relaxing beaches, there are also many archaeological sites, such as Lato and Zakros, interesting caves, like Ideon Andron, and the famous Plateau of Lassithi. The Plateau consists of 12 villages and is a mountainous area with lush vegetation. Historical monasteries and traditional windmills can be found along the Plateau as well as places of exceptional natural beauty, such as the Gorge of Ha, where many people go climbing and trekking.

Apart from the mainland of Lassithi, the area is surrounded by amazing islets, each one with its own beauty. The islet of Spinalonga, a former leper colony off Elounda, is known for its strong fortress. Chrissi islet is daily connected to the port of Ierapetra and has amazing crystal beaches. Koufonisi is another islet with remains of ancient settlements and fortifications.

Lassithi is connected by ferry to Piraeus, the main port of Greece, and the ferry makes some stops in Cycladic islands. There are also ferries to Karpathos and Kasos, two beautiful islands to the eastern side of Crete.
