Mykonos Ferries: Online booking for Mykonos Ferry Tickets

Mykonos, the second top Greek destination, is especially known as the island of extreme nightlife and crowded beaches. Every summer, the island receives more than 5 million tourists and gets wild with beach parties, loud music and clubs that stay open all day and night long.

Only 5 hours away from Athens by ferry and 40 minutes by plane, Mykonos is known for its traditional Cycladic architecture. Chora is the most picturesque village of the island. Small, white houses, narrow paths, lovely churches with tall bell towers and tiny gift shops in every corner form a typical view of Mykonos Chora. A line of well preserved windmills on a hill above the village gives excellent views of the harbor and the barren landscape of the island. The most picturesque neighborhood of Chora is Little Venice, some colorful houses with no balconies right on the sea, where most cafeterias and restaurants are found.

Most beaches on Mykonos are well-organized and get very crowded. Super Paradise, Platis Gialos, Psarou, Paranga and Ornos are surrounded by beach bars and sports clubs. As strong winds blow frequently over the island, the most common sports to practice on Mykonos is windsurfing. However, there are also clubs for kite surfing, jet ski, bananas and many other water sports.

Accommodation options and tourist facilities are plenty on Mykonos and of all classes. Most amenities are located in Chora or close to the beaches. Having the reputation of a gay-friendly island, many amenities are also gay-friendly.

Close to Mykonos, there is the islet of Delos, a holy islet in the ancient times, which you can visit by tour boat from Chora. On Delos, you can see the remains of the ancient temple of Apollo, the Street of the Lions, Roman mosaics with beautiful frescoes and an interesting archaeological museum. According to the myth, god Apollo was born on Delos and that is why it became his holy island. From Mykonos, there are also normal ferries and hydrofoils to many other Aegean islands, if you wish to share your holiday with another place.

Normal Ferries:
A normal ferry from Piraeus needs about 5 hours to reach the new port of Mykonos, about 3 km from Chora, the capital of the island. The length of the trip depends on the type and the speed of the vessel. Apart from Piraeus, there are also ferries leaving from Rafina, the second most important port of Athens, which is also closer to the Athens International Airport. The ferry from Rafina reaches Mykonos in about 4 hours.

Mykonos is also connected to other Aegean islands, such as Andros (2 and 1/2 h), Chios (3 h), Lesvos (5 h), Syros (1 and 1/2 h) and Tinos (30 min). In summer, apart from these itineraries, some more are added to other islands, such as Kos, Rhodes and Crete, to serve the wide flow of tourists that visit the island.
