Introduction:
Aegean Speed Lines was established in 2005 in Athens with the cooperation of the Eugenides Group of Companies and the British "Sea Containers". It was the first Greek company that used a European Union flag vessel, SpeedRunner I. In 2006, Sea Containers withdrew and an esteemed business group joined the company.
Today, Aegean Speed Lines is considered among the fastest growing companies in the coastal shipping industry. Although at first it served only the islands of Western Cyclades, presently its three vessels (SpeedRunner II, III and IV) cover most Cycladic islands in comfort and high standard services.
In fact, in December 2009, Aegean Speed Lines was granted the honours by Lloyds List as "the best shipping company of the year for its commitment and dedication to providing high quality services".
