Departure on Piraeus map
Introduction:
ANEK LINES was founded in April 1967 under the name “Anonymous Naval Company of Crete”. Its foundation was based on the need for good ferry connection between Crete and Athens/ mainland Greece. The seat of the company is in Chania.
The first vessel of the company was KYDON, which started its itineraries in September 1970 serving the line Piraeus-Chania. Since then, the development of the company has been quick and impressive. Today, it owns 11 ships certified by International Safety and Quality Systems.
In fact, in December 2008, in the framework of the 5th Greek Shipping Awards organized by Lloyd’s List, ANEK was awarded the prize of the “Best Company for the Year 2008 for Passenger Shipping”.
