According to an announcement issued by Attica Group, the ferry Superfast XII will start itineraries from Piraeus to Heraklion, Crete. Till now, only two ferry companies, Anek and Minoan Lines, are running ferries to Crete and benefit from the 2,000-3,000 passengers and the 250-350 lorries that are carried every day in this itinerary. However, it seems that Attica Group also wants to take some pieces of this pie. This situation will certainly have many advantages for the passengers as ferry pieces are expected to be reduced and quality of services will be improved due to competition
