Not too bad for the first time
[Translated from French]
Not many complaints about "Ferriesingreece". Except that by taking tickets for the trip Piraeus-Mytilene, I did not know that the boat (ferry company Hellenic Seaways) made four stops before reaching our destination. The trip lasted 14 h 30, which I knew at first, but actually, it does not exceed 8 hours. There was no other choice offered along with other companies on "Ferriesingreece ". The delay of 20 minutes from Piraeus, on such a journey time, was finally not a problem.
On the other hand, the two other boats that we took, always with Hellenic Seaways, were three hours late from the start, without being informed in advance by email or SMS (unless you have downloaded the application of Hellenic Seaways). Τhis concerned the trips Mytilene-Chios and Chios-Piraeus. At last, by being three hours late it was possible to miss a plane!
Conclusion: it is better to allow a delay of 24 hours when returning from the islands to Piraeus before leaving Greece, by plane or boat from Patras!
In general, the service of Hellenic Seaways on board is very good, which is worth noting.

Unbelievable!
I reserved your ferry from Mikonos to Tinos and return from Tinos to Mykonos.
First trip on 28th july was fine, but return on 4th august the ferry arrived on Tinos 1hour an 40 minutes later !!!
I had Ryanair flight from Mikonos that started 16.20 pm, Ferry arrived about 16 pm at the port, so finally I arrived on the airport at 16.10 pm!!!
The Gate was closed and the staff of the airport did not want to embark us... but, after my protests, they made me go through the controls gate with the boarding suitcase and they have thrown away the liquid products!!!! (I lost about 100 euros!!).
Notice that on the ferry I asked crew if they could call airport for ask to wait us, but answer was: "Sorry we do not have airport number !!!!!!" Unbelievable!!
Anyway, if you have to book ferry remember to book it many many hours before flight.

Cancellation of 2 trips by this company without a reason, which has generated extra costs for me and my companion (43 euros) for 2 other bookings + 51 euros for a night in a hotel in Piraeus on the day of arrival of my flight, as one of the canceled ferries had to give me a night's stay. No proposal for compensation from the company.

3 canceled boats! They were replaced but that made us lose a day. Obligation to go change tickets in each island in 3 different agencies while we had paid the postage for the delivery of the tickets. So I'm not satisfied.

We will use it at our next visit
We reserved online and was able to retrieve tickets easily online.
We used the ferries 3 times: the boarding was done smoothly, the reserved seats are very comfortable and the cafeteria service was good quality.
We will use it at our next visit to Greece, it is longer than plane to reach your destination but much easier.
Yes the ferry was late to arrive but no more than 45 min max.
There is an elevator but told us only reserved for luggage to make it more accessible will help.

Worst Ferry Experience in my 20 Years of Traveling
I have never experienced worse service or facilities on an inter-island ferry. The seats, even at 69 euros A PIECE, weren't together, and were very very very poor quality. The staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful. They damaged our bags by dragging them up the boat ramp and throwing them with the other luggage. I was traveling with two small children and was told several times to keep my children SILENT, and that they weren't allowed to sit in the seats because they are "real leather", and that I shouldn't feed them for the entire 2 hour trip because "kids are messy." One staff member tried to force to take my stroller (with the child in it) down the steep and dangerous stairs rather than allow me to take the elevator because I "shouldn't be lazy." I regret wasting money on such a dishonest, disorganized, and anti-family business.

Bad
Took a ferry from Athens to Hydra - it arrived 20 minutes behind the schedule although there were no reasons for that. On the way back we were really tight on schedule for our flight from Athens, and expectedly the ferry from Hydra to Athens came to the departure port 20 minutes late, and even worse - ride to Athens took 30 minutes more than was written in the schedule, so in total we arrived to Athens 50 minutes late. There was no explanation or apology from the stuff either.

Do not book with HELLENIC SEAWAYS
Please don't book any trip with HELLENIC SEAWAYS as they are cancelling the routes in very short notice. This happened to me, they have cancelled the trip and I had to re-scheduled my entire journey again by incurring high additional cost.

The staff is helpful and the amenities concerning the snack bar are of a high standard and cost. The toilets are kept clean.
Some suggestions however:
The programs broadcast on the video screens: the day of our return were diffused on the screens of the programs on the Nazism, the accidents of people, and the crashes of planes .... Emissions glaucous and violent.

I travel from Piraeus to Thira, the ferry was great but the air conditioning made us feel like we were on the North Pole. It was freezing! And the personal was very rude, we asked three times about our seats because they were asking for people tickets and showing them their way and they said something in Greek and made a gesture with their hand... so we sat where we wanted. I also travel from Thira to Heraklion. The ferry was two hours late, and when I went to the Hellenic seaways at the port the man said "yeah yeah it's late". So I expected a lot better, I'm for sure not traveling with Hellenic again.

Would not recommend to anyone
Thought we would try the 'island hopping experience and use the ferry between Thira (Santorini) and Heraklion (Crete); staff were rude when we collected tickets, ferry was over 2 hours late, there was no communications at the port and 'high speed journey took almost an hour longer than stated! I can see on the website lots of excuses for delays but customers should be advised when staff are aware of potential delays, lack of customer service inexcusable! Customers herded like cattle (actually cattle may be treated better). Very expensive compared to flying! Definitely will not use this 'service' again and would not recommend to anyone!

Unfortunatelly, not fully satisfied with a level of service due to sevetal reasons:
1) My ferry was late by 75 minutes;
2) It was cold inside the ferry brcause of air conditioning system. You could easily put +22, but temperature was quite lower - around +20;
3) That`s good that you have mini bars on board, but employees in the closest bar to my seats did their job VERY SLOW, so queue was very big.

The booking service was fine, though it's frustrating that ferry times are rarely issued until long after you've booked your flight. This meant we had a long long wait for our ferry at the not so charming Piraeus, with a tired 6 year old. We used three different services: two Flying Cats and one Flying Dolphin. We understand that turnaround times are quick if the boats are to keep to schedule, but the staff were stressed to the point of rudeness - harassing people about leaving their luggage and getting to their seats, when there was nothing like enough luggage space, which inevitably gives rise to big queues for people getting both on and off. Lastly, we were issued with 3 seats for one of our journeys - none of them together - and of course did not want to leave our 6 year old sitting with strangers. The staff are not flexible about you sitting elsewhere unless the service is pretty undercooked. Luckily we did end up sitting together, but it was not straightforward. I know the old fashioned car ferries took much longer, but sitting on deck watching the sea felt like the beginning of a holiday. This felt like something to be endured.

Trip from Mykonos to santorini was somewhat frustrating. My companion and I were not told prior to booking that booking together does not ensure you two seats next to, or even near each other. After settling into our seats across the boat from each other I tried to get a snack for the journey from the cafe but was told I had to wait for a waitress to take my order. There was one waitress for all of first class and we reached Ios before she even got to my table. At this point I was approached by an attendant asking if I would move so that a family could sit together. I acquiesced and was moved to a new seat where I was told that for my troubles I would be given free food from the cafe so I ordered a soda and cookies. 30 minutes later the waitress presented with the snacks and demanded payment, when I told her it was complimentary and I had no money besides a credit card, she actually took the cookie away and loudly states that if I couldn\'t pay I couldn\'t have it. Embarrassment aside, the rest of the trip was somewhat pleasant.

I thought it would be fun and easy to take ferries between various islands. In truth it wasn\'t,I didn\'t anticipate the amount of time waiting time and delays we would experience. We took two ferries. The first from Athens to Amorgos and arrived about 2 hours late. Then we took another ferry from Amorgos to Santorini, which not only arrived an hour and a half late, but then broke down, and ended up getting us in 4 hours late (the people who were going on to other destinations had to get off in Santorini and wait for another boat). If you have all the time in the world, use the ferry- the space is sufficient (though you can\'t go outside to get fresh air). Also, we had trouble with our seats- we were placed in seats with our backs going forward on both trips- that was uncomfortable and led to a very unpleasant ride. When we tried to change seats I was yelled at in Greek, not pleasant. Perhaps we were just unlucky, but it happened on both of our trips. If I were to do this trip over, I would definitely not use the ferry. Good luck and happy travels.

Sponsors first, customers last!
We travelled on Hellenic Seaways' 'Flying Dolphin' from Piraeus to Spetses. Otherwise the trip went relatively smoothly - except that the company has a sponsor agreement with Cosmote for vessel livery and as a consequence the windows have been taped over so you can see absolutely nothing from the cabin out. So instead of 2hrs admiring the Greek islands, you spend 2hrs in a claustrophobic, effectively windowless, cabin. For the return journey we decided to book a car instead - despite being more expensive and taking longer this was far more pleasant as we could actually see what was around us.

Very impressed, high quality product-the shop like a min cruise liner with restaurants, comfortable seating, big windows, very clean toilets and friendly staff - despite dealing with thousands of people a day in high season.....we were surprised. Access on/off also quite smooth considering the numbers of people. Only improvement would be some people directing where to leave your luggage as there was some confusion on entry - maybe some form of racks along the sides with title 'Baggage Racks', thanks Robin

The menu could be richer at VIP. Also if you had a small free welcoming drink at VIP Hall that would be nice to feel the difference of the hosting in that hall. Thank you very much.

This was the first time using the ferries and although boarding and exiting seems like chaos, it is all very organized so that the ferries are timely. The ferries are clean and the cost of food and drinks aboard is reasonable. The lounge area is comfortable and it is easy to walk around while sailing. My only complaint is that the arrival times listed at the time of my booking was 1 hour longer on the slower ferry and 1/2 hour later on the faster ferry so I needed to contact my driver pick up while on board that I would be late.

We booked our tickets two months in advanced with no problem. When we called customer service they were very nice and helpful. They suggested we go to the port and have our tickets printed. So we did just that. At the Hellenic office there were two people working behind computers. It took several minutes before either one of them acknowledged that we were standing there despite there was no one else in line. When the representative decided to assist us there was absolutely no personality or even a smile. The transaction took about 45 seconds and that was that. Guess they were never trained about customer service. When we arrived for the COSMOTE high speed ferry there was no one to guide you to where you needed to be. You just followed the 200 plus crowd up into the cargo area of the ferry. The crew ordered us to leave our luggage against one of the walls piled amongst the other 200 bags. We were not comfortable at all with this strategy. After we found our seats I ran to the food and beverage bar to grab a couple of waters and got to deal with a disgruntled worker. He looked beat up and his attitude displayed it. After we hit the open ocean I went back to the bar to grab a couple of cappuccinos but the same server was so disrespectful I decided I would not spend my money there. The rest of the ride was great. I would definitely refer my friends and family to this ferry line because despite the horrible customer service the boat was very comfortable.

If you don't want passengers in the VIP section not to step outside while under way, how about posting a sign to inform passengers at the doorway rather than have staff yell at them! If you don't want passengers in the VIP section not to take photographs of the VIP section, how about a sign to inform them, rather than being yelled at... and why no pictures? Other than that, the trip was fine, very comfortable although a bit confusing for first time users (boarding and disembarkation). Once again, I believe good signage would help improve the process.

We were happy with the speed of the ferry but there were a few conditions that made our trip less than ideal. 1) The food choice onboard was very poor and very expensive. 2) The boat did not seem very clean and the bathrooms especially were not clean. The ferries are less than the planes to the islands but I think I would have preferred a one hour trip to six hours on one of these.

The Flying Cat 4 from Iraklio to Thira is quick and convenient and takes usually about 2 hours or so. Ours was on time and we had pretty good seats that we and the baby boy were able to work with. The only problem is that it dumps you in a part of Iraklio where connections out that don't require a cab are poor, so be prepared!
