Routes
The ferry plays a key role in connecting the port of Piraeus in Athens with the northern Cyclades, offering connections to Syros, Tinos, and Mykonos, which together form one of the busiest corridors in the Aegean.
The Athens-Mykonos leg averages around 5 hours and 45 minutes. The Athens-Syros connection usually lasts 4 hours and 30 minutes, and the Athens-Tinos trip takes about 5 hours and 20 minutes. These routes are served throughout the year with daily departures.
Among the inter-island routes, the Tinos-Mykonos crossing is one of the busiest, lasting around 30 minutes. Other useful connections include the Syros-Tinos service, typically completed in 50 minutes.
Seats and cabins
Discover the seat and cabin types available on the vessel:
Economy seats
Economy seats are located in indoor lounges and outdoor public areas. They are the most budget-friendly way to travel and are popular for short or daytime crossings where passengers spend much of their time on deck.
Aircraft-type seats
The Blue Star Paros is equipped with several lounges offering numbered, reclining seats similar to airplane seating. These provide a quieter, more organized space than general economy areas and are well-suited for longer sailings when passengers want extra comfort without booking a cabin.
These seats are called Air Seats Lounge 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Business Class Lounge
The vessel features a Business Class Lounge located in a quieter area of the ship. Seating is unassigned, and passengers are served drinks and light refreshments directly at their seats.
Cabin types
For maximum comfort and privacy, Blue Star Paros features fully equipped cabins, all with a private bathroom, air conditioning, fresh linens, and basic amenities such as a TV and a telephone.
- • Inside and outside cabins: Available in single, double, triple, and quadruple layouts. Outside cabins include a porthole with natural light and sea views, while inside cabins are windowless.
- • Deluxe (Luxury) cabins: Spacious cabins featuring a double bed, private lounge area with sofa, TV, and minibar for added comfort.
- • Accessible cabins: Designed for travelers with reduced mobility, they feature wider doors, adapted bathrooms, and close access to elevators and main facilities.
- • Pet-friendly cabins: Adapted for passengers traveling with animals, these cabins have hard flooring for easier cleaning and maintenance.
Facilities
The vessel offers a wide range of onboard facilities designed for a comfortable and enjoyable journey.
Food & drink
A fast-food style restaurant is available for quick meals, while an indoor café/bar serves coffee, pastries, light snacks, and refreshments throughout the day. On the open sun deck, outdoor bars provide drinks and lighter fare, allowing passengers to relax in the fresh air while enjoying sea views.
Shopping facilities
Travelers can browse the onboard shop, which carries a curated selection of goods. The assortment typically includes fragrances, cosmetics, spirits, travel accessories, souvenirs, and local products, giving passengers the option to pick up both necessities and gifts during the crossing. An ATM is available for cash needs on board.
Entertainment
Public lounges are fitted with flat-screen TVs, giving passengers a place to rest and watch programs during the voyage. The "@sea" infotainment portal, accessible via Wi-Fi on personal devices, allows passengers to stream music, listen to podcasts, check weather updates, play online games, and follow the ship’s real-time position. There is also a children’s play area for younger passengers.
Pet-friendly facilities
The ship is pet-friendly and provides outdoor kennels as well as a limited number of pet-friendly cabins, which can be booked in advance. Pets over 10 kg may travel on the open decks when leashed (and muzzled if needed), while smaller pets under 10 kg are permitted indoors if carried in an appropriate pet carrier. Assistance dogs are welcome in all public areas. Pet owners are responsible for their animals’ documentation and hygiene during the trip.
Accessibility features
The vessel is designed to accommodate passengers with reduced mobility. Elevators and escalators connect the passenger decks and garages, wheelchair-accessible restrooms are available, and storage space is provided for mobility devices. Adapted cabins can be reserved by passengers with reduced mobility, featuring wider doorways, grab rails, and step-free showers to ensure safe and comfortable use.
Wi-Fi and connectivity
Wi-Fi coverage is available throughout the ship, with access codes on sale at reception or the onboard bars. While coverage and speed can vary at sea, the service allows passengers to remain connected throughout the crossing.
Additional services
The Blue Star Paros also provides a 24-hour telemedicine service for medical assistance. A reception desk offers travel information and passenger support.
Vehicle transportation
The vessel has a capacity for approximately 240 vehicles on its garage deck, accommodating cars, motorbikes, bicycles, campers, caravans, trailers, and trucks. Bicycles are transported free of charge.
Luggage
Passengers on Blue Star Ferries can carry up to 50 kg or 1 cubic meter of luggage free of charge. If a passenger exceeds the allowance, additional arrangements must be made with the Chief Purser, who may refuse excess baggage or direct it to paid storage.
Valuable possessions can be handed over to the Chief Purser for safekeeping, with a receipt issued. The company is responsible for the damage or loss of luggage on board only if it has been handed over for safekeeping and a relevant receipt has been issued. The company is not responsible for any loss of money, valuables, or luggage left in the cabins, the vessel’s common areas, or inside vehicles.
The transportation of flammable and hazardous materials is strictly prohibited.
