Aegean Sea Lines is a Greek ferry company founded in 2005 by the Eugenides Group under the name Aegean Speed Lines, which changed to its current name in 2022. In 2009 the company was declared the Passenger Line of the Year by Lloyd's List Greek Shipping Awards. 
 
Aegean Sea Lines is based in Athens and owns a ship that operates to the Cyclades. More specifically, the F/B ANEMOS is a conventional Ro-Ro/Passenger ferry that departs from Piraeus. Its destinations include Serifos, Sifnos, Milos, Ios and Santorini

The company offers discounted tickets to children aged 5-10 years old, students, European Youth Card holders, disabled persons and families with three or more children.

Children up to 5 years old travel free of charge.

Cancellation Policy:

If the trip date is during HIGH SEASON (01/06/2024-08/09/2024), the following applies:

• 7 days before departure: Tickets are canceled without cancellation fees or can be converted to open date tickets or set for another departure date.
• From 7 days up to 12 hours prior to departure, a 50% cancellation charge is applied. Alternatively, tickets can be converted to open date tickets or set for another departure date.
• From 12 hours up to 4 hours prior to departure tickets cannot be canceled and can only be converted to open date tickets or set for another date.
• From 4 hours up to the departure, tickets cannot be canceled or converted to open date tickets or set for another date.
• After departure, tickets cannot be canceled or converted to open date tickets or set for another date.

During LOW SEASON (all other dates):
• 3 days before departure: Tickets are canceled without charge or can be converted to open date tickets.
• From 3 days up to 3 hours prior to departure: A 50% cancellation charge is applied. Alternatively, tickets can be converted to open date tickets or set for another departure date.
• From 3 hours up to 1 hour prior to departure: Tickets cannot be canceled and can only be converted to open date tickets or set for another date.
• From 1 hour prior to departure and after departure: Tickets cannot be canceled or converted to open date tickets or set for another date.

OPEN DATE TICKETS: OPEN tickets can be replaced within one year from the date they were issued and only once. When replacing an OPEN ticket it is possible to change the route and passenger details. When an OPEN ticket is replaced with a higher-value ticket, the difference should be paid. When an OPEN ticket is replaced with a ticket of a lower value, the difference will not be refunded.
OPEN passenger tickets can be replaced with passenger tickets and OPEN vehicle tickets (e.g. car/moto) can be replaced with vehicle tickets (e.g. car/moto). Tickets that have been converted to OPEN tickets only once can be cancelled 50% within a year after their issuance date. OPEN tickets with a confirmed new travel date are canceled according to the company's cancellation policy.

Passengers Tickets Conditions

Ticket Issue

All tickets must be issued with the name of the passenger on it, the sex and the age. If the passenger is a person with special needs, this must be made clear during the ticket issue. It is forbidden to issue a ticket on board, which is why passengers must issue tickets on time. Children up to 4 years old do not pay a ticket but they have to hold a ticket with zero fare.

Open date tickets

In order for the open date tickets to be valid, you have to issue a boarding card through your travel agent. The open date tickets are valid for indefinite time. If until the travel date, the fare have raised, then the passenger has to pay the difference.

Ticket cancellation

The tickets can be cancelled only through the travel agent. You can not cancel a ticket by phone. The cancelled tickets must be returned to the travel agent.

Approved by the Hellenic Ministry of Mercantile Marine
• The ticket is issued in the passengers name, is personal and non-transferable. It is valid only for the class and the trip for which it was issued.
• The fare does not include catering.
• Passengers should be at the embarkation area of the ship one (1) hour before departure. If the passenger is not in time for sailing, he/she is not entitled to a refund of the fare.
• Children up to 4 years old travel free of charge and are not entitled to bed, while children over 4 and up to 10 years old pay a reduced fare and are entitled to bed.
• The bearer of a full ticket is allowed to carry free of charge luggage up to 50 kilos or 1 cubic meter.
• In case of loss of the ticket, it will not be replaced nor the fare will be refunded. The shipping company is not responsible for any damage or loss of the passengers luggage that is under the personal care of him/her during the trip.
• Jewellery, money and valuable objects may be delivered to the ships accounting office for safekeeping.
• The shipping company will not be responsible for any delay in sailing, deviation and not keeping normal route, due to bad weather conditions or orders of the Ministry of Mercantile Marine or the Harbor Authorities or due to force major.
• It is forbidden to the passengers to carry explosives, inflammable, incendiary and dangerous in general materials.
• The passengers are responsible for the observance of the Harbor, Sanitary and Custom regulations. The passengers should comply with the captains and the crew orders regarding the maintenance of order and the safety of the ship.
• The passenger should address any complaint during the trip to the ships captain or first mate and after the arrival, to the shipping company or to the Harbor Authorities.
• If for any reason the travel is cancelled due to the ships responsibility, the fare is refunded without any further obligation of the shipping company towards the passenger.
• The shipping company has the right, after approval of the Ministry of Mercantile Marine, to replace the vessel for which the ticket was issued with another vessel.

Vehicle Transport Receipt Conditions

Approved by the Hellenic Ministry of Mercantile Marine
• The drivers are obligated to load and unload their vehicle.
• The vehicles should be at the waiting for shipment area one (1) hour before departure and in any case on the time prescribed by the Port Regulation in force.
• The driver is not entitled to refund of the fare if he is not in time for sailing, while if he states before sailing his intention not to ship his vehicle, he is entitled to a refund of half of the fare.
• In case of loss of vehicle transport receipt, the fare is not refunded.
• The vehicles passengers have to get out of them before their shipment aboard.
• The passengers should carry with them objects that they need during the travel. After sailing the entrance to the vehicle station is forbidden.
• The transportation of explosives, incendiary and dangerous in general materials is forbidden. The priority order is determined by the Port Regulations of each Harbor Authorities, where the vehicles are shipped.

  • Wonderful trip

    We went from Piraeus to Milos, and back a week later with Anemos.
    The ferry is huge, stable, well organized on every level. The crew is professional and helpful. We had a vip reservation, than upgraded it after boarding to have a cabin, which was really clean and comfortable, with window.
    We loved to travel with them.

    We went from Milos to Sifnos with the ship Anemos. We hadn't reserved a seat, so we were able to enjoy the trip in the large lounge with its large windows and beautiful views of the landscape.

  • Pleasant journey

    For having experienced (reluctantly) the Seajets company a few days earlier, I can assure you that the service offered by Aegean Speedlines has nothing to do with it! Already the SpeedRunner is much bigger compared to the boats mostly used by Seajets. Suddenly you feel less of the swell, on strong windy days. On the contrary, I was on the verge of falling asleep, as if rocked by the sea. I did not see these 4 hours pass. The seat was comfortable, you have legroom and the cabin is relatively clean. Between vehicles and pedestrians, boarding is well organized, we guide you nicely and you will find a place for your suitcases. No worries also for online registration, which gives you access to a QR Code to place in the wallet. Frankly, I have nothing to reproach them with and yet it was the height of summer!

  • Outrageous

    The on-line check-in process turned out to be very difficult to do because of the system's inability. When it was finally possible, seven people were given seven separated positions.
    If you are in an advantageous location, check-in from a travel agency, you should clearly mention it on your site and not give yourself the illusion of the passenger's autonomy.
    7 people from 2 families ended up in 7 remote locations.
    The holidays start from the ship and you manage to destroy their beginning.
    In the future I'm not going to re-select you.

  • Good trip

    We have made several trips and in general we are very satisfied with the welcome, crew, seat. An improvement in the offer of snacks will not be negligible.

  • We traveled on speedrunner 4 from Paros to Pireus. We were vey happy with the trip. The boat was not too crouwded, seats were very cofortable, the trip felt good. Additionally the crew was very welcoming and nice. The only strange thing is that they only check the tickets after you are on board and after the boat already started to leave the port, so for the elderly or simply for people who are not the best at getting around it could be a bit confusing. HOWEVER - I imagine that if we had any doubt we could have asked one of the people on the port if we were standing in the correct line (and plus I think that this issue is true for all ferry companies because I did not see that tickets were checked in the other lines as well)

  • Great ferries. The only problem we had was the ticketing system. We are a family 2 adults 2 kids and when the tickets were issued our kids seats were not seated near ours. Ridiculous considering the kids ages are 3 and 5.
