About KeaKea is one of the closest islands to Attica, only 1 hour from the port of Lavrion. The main port of Kea is Korissia and the most picturesque settlement of Kea is the capital Loulida, that distinguishes for the Medieval castle and the paved paths. Another popular place is Vourkari, where private yachts and fishing boats moor in summer.
Kea has many sightseeings, including the Castle in Loulida and the Monastery of Panagia Kastriani, built on top of a rock with gorgeous view to the sea. In Kea, trekking is also a popular sports and in fact a very popular trekking path leads to the archaeological site of Ancient Karthea.
The landscape of Kea reminds very little of the other Cyclades islands, as the mountains are kind of darker and the nature is greener. The busiest beach of Kea is Koundouros, but there are many other organized or secluded beaches to enjoy your swim.
