Sporades is a group of islands located east of Pelion and north of Evia. Their name means "the scattered ones", and they include four main islands - Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos and Skyros. Except for the latter, which is more reminiscent of a Cycladic island, the profile of the other three islands looks like the setting in the drawing of a child who was asked to draw the place where fairies live! And really, the Sporades are famous for their dense vegetation and the emerald, crystal-clear waters surrounding them.

Skiathos

Skiathos is the most lively island out of the four. Combining picturesqueness and natural beauty with sophisticated tourist infrastructure and a variety of activities available on the island, it is no wonder why it is one of the top destinations in Greece! The trees that cover its land like a cloak and the teal waters of the beaches with fine sand make a great impression on visitors. Adventure adorers can try water sports, hiking, or scuba diving, while party lovers are sure to be satisfied by the nightlife.
The verdant Skopelos is so green that some prefer to call it “the forest island”. Its ground is covered with pine trees that reach the beaches, making the setting even more heavenly than it already is. From the cobbled alleys of the picturesque Skopelos Town, visitors can gaze at the nearby Skiathos and Pelion.
A favorite of walkers, Alonissos is a paradise on earth! Beaches with glimmering waters, lush pine forests, enchanting paths and lovely villages make up the profile of this island of unparalleled beauty. In addition, the area is home to the National Marine Park of Alonissos and Northern Sporades, which protects (among others) the most consummate swimmer of the region - the adorable Mediterranean monk seal!
Skyros is the largest island of the Sporades. Its architecture is reminiscent of a Cycladic island since it has settlements with low, whitewashed cubic houses. It has beautiful beaches and pine forests like the rest of the islands of the complex and is home to unique species of flora and fauna. It is ideal for sports enthusiasts, as they can practice hiking, water sports and 4x4/motorcycle off-road rides. Finally, the local cuisine can also be considered an attraction, as it enchants visitors’ palates!
