Below, you will find information about how to get to Porto Heli, what ferries depart from there, information about the area, where to buy your tickets, and many photos.
Situated in the eastern Peloponnese, in the region of Argolis, the coastal town of Porto Heli ranks among the most cosmopolitan resorts in the entire country. Boasting fabulous beaches, magnificent views of the Saronic Gulf and a well-developed tourist infrastructure, it has evolved into a pole of attraction for the Greek and international elite. Moreover, thanks to its highly advantageous geographical position, it is perfect not only for day trips around the eastern Peloponnese, but also for crossing over to the enchanting islands of Spetses, Hydra, and Poros.
HOW TO TRAVEL THERE
Porto Heli is a small coastal town that does not have an airport. The closest one that you can reach is the International Airport of Athens, which is located 202 kilometers away. From there, driving to Porto Heli is fairly easy, as the resort is located just over two and a half hours away. Daily KTEL bus itineraries are available as well, but the journey is not direct (changing buses at Kranidi is needed). Alternatively, it is possible to travel by ferry too, which can be much more convenient as routes are daily, and the duration of the crossing does not exceed the time it would take to get there by bus. Moreover, ferries offer passengers a unique opportunity to enjoy the magnificent seascape of the Saronic Gulf throughout the crossing.
Note: The ferry is the only way to travel between Porto Heli and the Saronic islands of Spetses, Hydra and Poros.
Ferry Connections
Porto Heli is well-connected to Piraeus, the main port of the Greek capital, as well as to the seaside resort of Ermioni, which is also located in the region of Argolis, a mere 17 kilometers from Porto Heli.
The most popular route for anyone wishing to combine sightseeing with the allure of the Saronic is from Porto Heli to Spetses, as this picturesque island is located right opposite Porto Heli and the ferry crossing takes only 10 minutes! The elegant Hydra and the tranquil Poros are also well-connected to Porto Heli, and the journey takes 1 hour and 20 minutes and 2 hours respectively.
Routes are operated exclusively by high-speed/catamaran vessels belonging to Blue Star. Please note that these ferries do not have a garage, so it will not be possible to take your vehicle with you.

Directions
There are several ways to leave from/get to Porto Heli.
Public buses (KTEL) are the most affordable option for those traveling on a budget. The central KTEL terminal is located in the settlement of Kranidi, which lies around 7 kilometers from Porto Heli, while the two are connected via a separate bus line. From the Kranidi bus terminal, travelers can reach Athens, Nafplion, Mycenae, Patra, Ancient Epidaurus and other locations of interest. The frequency of the itineraries depends on the destination, while tickets can be purchased online or at ticket offices.
Taxis are an easier and more flexible transportation option, but the great distances also mean that they are a more expensive way of moving around. For greater convenience, contacting a local driver to schedule a pick-up or arranging a private transfer is strongly recommended.
Finally, having your own car is the best way of moving around the eastern Peloponnese, as you will be able to discover beaches and sights without having to rely on fixed bus itineraries. A few car rental agencies can be found in the streets around the Porto Heli harbor.
