The port of Volos

All ferries depart from Volos Port, which is conveniently located close to the city center of Volos. As the port is relatively small, spotting your ferry should be fairly easy.

Ferries bound for Skiathos arrive at Skiathos Port, which lies in the heart of Skiathos Town, the island’s capital.

Skiathos is a highly popular destination, so there may be traffic around the port of Volos. For this reason, being there at least 1 hour before the scheduled departure time is strongly recommended.

Luggage policies in Greek ferries are quite flexible.
Each ticketholder is allowed to carry 40 kg or 0.5 cubic meters of luggage. Also, a luggage storage area is available on each ferry.

Drivers should be at the port 1 hour before the official departure time.

Skiathos has an international airport receiving domestic flights from Athens, as well as seasonal flights from several European countries.
Alternatively, routes to Skiathos are available from the port of Mantoudi in northern Euboea. If you are already in the Sporades, you can also reach Skiathos by ferry from the islands of Skopelos and Alonissos.
Please note that there are no ferry routes from Athens to Skiathos. If you are traveling from Athens, you need to reach Volos or Mantoudi by car or KTEL bus and then take the ferry
