Never again
We went from Crete Chania to Piraeus. The boat was on time, the entrance went smoothly.
We booked silver seats, and they are enough and comfortable.
It is really cold on the boat, we read a reviews so we took some beach towels with us, and it was lifesaving.
BUT
You must keep in mind that on these type of ferries you are like in airplane, nowhere to hide, or to move. So actually if you are in a bad surrounding prepare for hell. In the middle of the ship there is a room called lounge room. The kids use that room as a play room, so it is more like playground not lounge room, and that is of course fine they need the space more then I do. But the yelling was so hard, that it was unbearable. Nobody from the employees reacts to that.
Just to be clear, I traveled with two kids, they are older, not into playgrounds anymore, but we went through that faze and I never experiences that type of screaming not even in playground.
We weren't the only one that had problem with this, there was a lot of families and travelers that couldn't think because of the screaming and yelling. The boat was one hour late to Piraeus port / if the sailing wasn't that awful I wouldn't mind, but the whole experience was unbearable.
We took Blue Star farriers to Crete, and it is the way better option. The ship is really big, so you have a lot of option to walk, and to move wherever you want. And it took us 8 hours to Crete with the bigger ship, and 6,5 hours with the "faster" one. Definitely not worth the extra money that you are paying. -
Freezer
[Translated from French]
Trip completely ruined by the freezer-like air-conditioning! We couldn't adjust the temperature, which was far too cold. Despite having our fleeces out almost from the start, we caught a good cold! Really nice for the next 3 days ☹.
Soon, a good number of travelers were running to the suitcases to get out warm outfits!
Unbelievable! -
KOS
Unfortunately on 26 july we went to the port of Mandoudi 1 hour before as mentioned in the travel specifications. The entry of the cars started 20 minutes before the scheduled departure. The temperature was 44 to 45 degrees Celsius and when I asked why we were left in the harbour and why they did not settle the cars earlier due to special conditions they did not even bother to give an excuse.
